A Kennesaw, Alabama woman is facing two felony charges after the DUI suspect allegedly tried to bribe officers following an accident.
Forty-one-year old Rachel Michuki was believed to be driving while intoxicated when she crashed her car on November 20.
Michuki was arrested last Wednesday morning after she crashed into a vehicle along George Busbee Parkway’s 3700 block.
Reports indicate she failed to yield while entering the roadway and this caused a two-vehicle wreck. Michuki was traveling with her mother and her daughter. Her minor daughter’s left collarbone was broken in the accident.
A team from Channel 2 Action News which visited the family’s home said Michuki’s mother had a cast on her leg. However, arrest records didn’t mention her injury.
It is not known if anyone in the other vehicle suffered injuries.
According to the Cobb County arrest warrants, the responding officers noticed Michuki’s eyes were watery, bloodshot and moving rapidly when they arrived on the scene between 9:20 and 9:50 a.m.
Michcki reportedly told police she had a few drinks the night before but did not have anything to drink that morning. However, it is alleged that she volunteered to take a sobriety test but couldn’t complete it at the scene because of hip pain.
The warrants say Michuki was taken to WellStar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta where she offered an officer cash if he let her go.
Michuki was booked into Cobb County jail. She was charged with DUI, bribery, serious injury by vehicle and failure to yield, according to jail records. She was released the following day on a $7,500 bond.
